Fama gets AENOR's Carbon Footprint Certificate

10/01/2023

In our commitment to transparency and care for the environment, at Fama Sofas we have worked on obtaining a new certificate issued by AENOR, with which we commit as a company to work to reduce the impact that our activity has on the so-called 'greenhouse effect'.

According to AENOR, the Carbon Footprint is a parameter to describe the amount of greenhouse gas emissions associated with a company in order to determine its contribution to climate change. By calculating various indicators, we have been able to analyze the amount of gases that derive from our activity in order to draw up a plan that will allow us to gradually reduce them in the coming years.

For more than 15 years we have been committed to creating more sustainable products. We have devised new removable construction systems with hardly any assembly that reduce the volume of many of our models by more than 50%. We have opted for nearby suppliers that avoid long transport journeys. We have encouraged the use of bicycles on trips to the factory, we have replaced diesel heating systems with pellets made from our waste, we have installed Solar Panels to generate our own electricity...

All this has allowed us to considerably reduce our carbon footprint in recent years, but this has only just begun. Our commitment is clear to do our bit to continue reducing our CO2 emissions into the atmosphere.

The Carbon Footprint certificate is thus added to the ISO14001 and Zero Waste AENOR certifications with which Fama wants to maintain its commitment and commitment to being a more sustainable company with the environment. At Fama Sofas we work every day to continue reducing the impact of our activity, with actions such as the valorization of our waste or the reduction of the volume occupied by our products in transport, among many others.
